Listen to what one home owner said in Claremont California after the fire storm came to his house 2003. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
What most persons do not know or fail to understand is that you cannot simply cover over a potential fire hazard.
Remember inside your walls (unless steel or concrete) have wood studs, plates, decking and flooring, from the foundation to the roof.
In the past homes and buildings had no insulation, today that is mandatory. Also in the past fire retardants have not been used and is still not mandatory in most states.
Results previous built homes, apartments, small and large buildings become infernos in the presence of small and out of control fires.
It makes no difference if the fire starts in the walls, kitchen, kids playing with matches or outside from wildfires.
Most of today’s existing homes lack any fire resistant building materials and are subject to total destruction. What the fire does not destroy the water trying to put it out will damage or destroy the rest.
What all persons can do today is use fire prevention technology such as flame retardant applications that will save property and lives.
You do not get a second chance with fire, it is up to you to preserve and protect.
